PLANTATION, FL-April 25, 2008 - POWERi Technologies, one of the fastest growing and most recognized interactive marketing agencies in the U.S. will be hosting two impactful seminars for the Caribbean hotel and tourism industry in Antigua and Barbuda and the Turks & Caicos Islands respectively. The seminar entitled “Marketing The Caribbean in The Digital Age: Interactive Marketing for The Tourism & Hotel Industry” will take place May 26th, 2008 at the Jolly Beach Resort & Spa in Bolans Village, Antigua from 1:00 PM-6:00PM, and at the Regent Palms in Grace Bay, Providenciales Turks & Caicos islands on May 29th, 2008 from 1:00PM-6:00 PM.
The seminars’ goals will be to help Caribbean hotels and destinations leverage the ever growing power of the Internet to help drive global tourism to their premises. As consumers around the world continuously turn to the Internet for information, products and services, businesses must quickly learn to adapt to an ever changing market place. The seminars will focus on a series of topics ranging from Search Engine Optimization, Online Marketing, E-mail Marketing, Channel Revenue Management & Online Reservation Systems, Digital Public Relations, and Reaching Global Clients.
“Our goal is to help the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Industry tap into a growing loop of global clients using web-based tools that are simple and easy to use. The Internet is quickly replacing traditional avenues of marketing and adopting an online strategy is not only critical but almost impossible to circumvent in today’s business environment.” states David Andrade, CEO at POWERi.
Both the Antigua Hotels & Tourist Association and the Turks & Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association will host the seminars in an effort to encourage their members to begin using these emerging technologies as part of their marketing strategy.
“We are keen to expose our members to cutting edge information that can assist in positioning Antigua and Barbuda as a premier destination. We would also encourage as many of the smaller properties to get on board with the new technologies that allow us to reach our customers worldwide and compete as equals in the global industry,” states Neil Forrester, General Manager of the Antigua Hotels & Tourist Association. “I strongly encourage hoteliers to take advantage of this hands-on training being provided by this top US team of interactive marketing professionals.”
Wired Island, a leading full-service marketing agency will lead the efforts as a collaborating partner with the TCHTA in the Turks & Caicos Islands. “It is critical that we leverage the power of the Internet to remain competitive as a destination in a global market for tourism spending and to enhance our individual businesses,” states Butch Clare, president of the Turks & Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association. “As an association, the TCHTA is happy to support such educational initiatives for our members and I encourage all of them to invest the time to better equip themselves in the digital age. I believe the teams from Wired Island and POWERi can offer great insights and ideas on best practices for Internet marketing.”
